Water Supply to Remain Affected in Several Kokernag Areas on Oct 28–29.

Kokernag, Oct 27: The Jal Shakti (PHE) Department’s Sub-Division Kokernag has announced that water supply in several areas will remain affected on October 28 and 29, 2025, due to periodic desilting of the water storage dam at Chakoora on Mather Nallah.
According to a notice issued by the Assistant Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Sub-Division Kokernag, the desilting work is being carried out to clear silt deposits caused by recent floods on August 26–27 and October 2–3, 2025.
The water supply will be disrupted in areas fed by the Daksum-Wangam, Vailoo-Dewalgam, Regional Watnard, and Lower Bidhar water schemes. The affected areas include Bidhar, Dandipora, Vailoo, Pindobal, Dewalgam, Wangam, Soyan, Goihard, Adigam, and Bindoo-Zalangam.
Residents have been advised to store sufficient drinking water in advance to avoid inconvenience during the maintenance period.
