Crackdown on Drug Trafficking: Anantnag Police Attach Property of Notorious Drug Peddler

Anantnag, January 16, 2026
In a major action against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police has attached property belonging to a habitual offender involved in multiple narcotics cases.

Police Station Bijbehara attached a TATA Safari vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-9999, owned by Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, resident of Gadhanjipora Bijbehara. The accused is a notorious drug peddler who has been repeatedly involved in drug trafficking activities. He was recently arrested in connection with FIR No. 241/2025 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bijbehara.

This property attachment is part of the sustained drive by Anantnag Police to dismantle drug networks and strike at the financial assets of offenders. Such measures are intended to send a strong message that those indulging in drug peddling will face strict legal consequences, including seizure of their ill-gotten assets.

Anantnag Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and urges citizens to extend their cooperation by reporting any drug-related activities in their localities. Together, we can build a safer and drug-free community.
