Parking on Highways Banned in Kokernag to Facilitate Snow Clearance: SDM Kokernag
Kokernag Jan 21 : (ANR) The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag has issued an order prohibiting the parking of vehicles on National Highway-244 and other connecting roads to ensure smooth snow clearance operations and uninterrupted movement of emergency services.
According to circular issued from the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag said , It has been observed during previous spells of snowfall that vehicles parked on National Highway 244 and other connecting roads and road margins have created serious obstacles in snow clearance operations, resulting in delay in restoration of road connectivity and inconvenience to the general public.
In view of the prevailing winter conditions and likelihood of snowfall, and in order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted snow clearance as well as movement of emergency and essential service vehicles, it is hereby directed that no vehicle shall be parked on public roads or road margins.
All vehicle owners shall ensure that their vehicles are parked only at designated parking places or within private premises. Any vehicle found obstructing roads shall be removed and appropriate action shall be taken as per law. The concerned SHO, shall ensure strict enforcement of this order.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain operative until further orders. (ANR)
