Market Checking Drive Conducted Ahead of Holy Month of Ramzan
Anantnag Feb 18 : Anantnag Police, in coordination with Revenue authorities and the Food Safety Department, conducted market checking drives across the district in view of the upcoming holy month of Ramzan.
Joint teams inspected grocery shops, vegetable and fruit vendors, meat sellers, bakeries and other retail outlets to ensure hygiene, proper display of rate lists and prevention of overcharging or sale of substandard items.
During the drive, several violations were noticed and legal action has been initiated against the erring traders. Shopkeepers were advised to maintain transparency and sell essential commodities at approved rates.
District Police Anantnag remains committed to safeguarding public health and consumer rights. Citizens are requested to report any malpractice to the nearest police station.
