 DGP visits District Shopian, reviews overall security scenario



March 07: The Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Nalin Prabhat (IPS) today visited District Shopian and reviewed the overall security scenario of the district.


The DGP was accompanied by Spl DG Kashmir Shri Javid Gillani (IPS), IGP Kashmir Shri V.K. Birdi (IPS) and DIG South Kashmir Shri Javaid Iqbal Matoo (IPS), along with other senior officers of Police and Security Forces.


During the visit, the DGP chaired a comprehensive security review meeting with district police and security officials. The meeting discussed the prevailing security situation, counter-terrorism measures, and overall operational preparedness in the district.


Special emphasis was laid on strengthening counter-terrorism efforts, ensuring the security of minority communities, and maintaining adequate security arrangements at tourist destinations across the district. The DGP directed officers to remain vigilant and continue sustained operations against terrorist elements and their support networks.


He also stressed the importance of close coordination among all security agencies to effectively counter security challenges and maintain a robust security grid in the district.


Senior officers briefed the DGP on the existing security arrangements and measures being taken to ensure peace, stability, and public safety.


The DGP appreciated the efforts of the district police and other security forces in maintaining peace and urged them to continue working with dedication and professionalism to ensure a secure and peaceful environment in the district.
