SANJY-2026: Draw of Lots for Tent, Shop Allotment Held in Anantnag

DC Oversees Exercise in Presence of Applicants

ANANTNAG, APRIL 17: To ensure fair and transparent allotment of tents and shops for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 at various identified locations on Pahalgam Axis, a draw of lots was conducted today at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal. The exercise was jointly carried out by a designated committee comprising ADC, CEO PDA, SDM Pahalgam, AD Tourism Pahalgam and DIO NIC through a randomisation software, ensuring it's fairness and transparency.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Yatra Officer Pahalgam Axis, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat(IAS) oversaw the entire process in presence of ACR, applicants, service providers and their representatives.

The applicants had earlier submitted their applications for installing shops and pitching tents at various identified locations enroute the Holy Cave.The allocation of quotas to different applicant categories was made strictly in accordance with the guidelines laid down by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the initiative is part of the pre-Yatra logistical planning aimed at facilitating smooth arrangements for the annual pilgrimage, which witnesses a large influx of devotees every year via the Pahalgam route. He asked for cooperation from all the stakeholders for successful conduct of SANJY-2026.

The applicants and service providers present on the occasion expressed satisfaction over the transparent and smooth conduct of the process and appreciated the authorities for providing a fair and equal opportunity to them. Information & PR, J&K .
