 Light Rain, Thunder Showers Likely in J&K; Farmers Advised to Halt Work on April 24–25 : MeT Srinagar



Srinagar, April 23: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast generally calm weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir till the end of April, with only brief spells of rain and thundershowers expected on a few occasions.


According to the forecast, April 23 will remain partly cloudy, with chances of light rain, thunder, and gusty winds at isolated places during the late afternoon. From April 24 to 25, weather conditions are expected to turn partly to generally cloudy, with brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at scattered to many locations, accompanied by gusty winds in some areas during afternoon and evening hours.


The weather is likely to remain mostly dry on April 26 and 27, although a brief spell of light rain may occur at isolated places in the afternoon. On April 28, generally cloudy conditions are expected with light rain or thunder at a few places.


Between April 29 and 30, skies will remain generally cloudy, with chances of light rain at isolated locations during late afternoon hours. Similar conditions are expected to continue on May 1 and 2, with brief spells of rain or thundershowers at a few places.


Advisory:

The MeT Centre has advised farmers to suspend farm operations on April 24 and 25 in view of the expected rain and gusty winds.
