Traffic Update: Two-Way Movement Allowed on Jammu–Srinagar National Highway

Srinagar, April 7: Passenger traffic was allowed from both directions on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) as of 6:30 AM today, officials said.

Commuters can travel from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa. However, authorities have urged drivers to strictly follow lane discipline, warning that overtaking and driving on the wrong side may lead to congestion along the highway.

The Traffic Police have also advised the public not to rely on rumors and to verify road status through official platforms, including their Twitter handle (@Traffic_hqrs) and Facebook page (Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police).

For real-time updates and assistance, commuters can contact Traffic Control Units (TCUs) at Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban through the designated helpline numbers.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure smooth traffic flow on the highway. (ANR)
