Anantnag Police Destroys Illicit Poppy Cultivation in Aishmuqam & Kokernag
Anantnag 28 April 2026 : Anantnag Police has registered Three cases under the NDPS Act after destroying illegal poppy cultivation in Aishmuqam and Kokernag.
At Hassan Noor village Aishmuqam, poppy crop was found on land belonging to Gh. Mohd Itoo and Gh. Mohiddin Itoo. FIR Nos. 33/2026 & 34/2026 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act were registered. Crops were destroyed on the spot in presence of the Executive Magistrate.
At Naibasti Panzgam, Kokernag, poppy crop was found on land of Abdul Quyoom Bhat. FIR No. 32/2026 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act was registered at PS Kokernag. The crop was destroyed in presence of the Executive Magistrate and local officials.
