Awantipora Dec 31 2025:Awantipora Police achieved significant milestones during the year 2025 through sustained law enforcement, counter-terror operations, cyber policing, humanitarian response, and community engagement, reaffirming its commitment to public safety and national security.


NDPS enforcement:


Awantipora Police registered 62 NDPS cases and arrested 96 accused persons.

12 drug peddlers were booked under the PIT NDPS Act.

04 properties of drug peddlers were attached, valued at ₹1.56 crore.


Destruction & seizures:


Illegally cultivated poppy over 35 Kanals & 09 Marlas and wild bhang over 35 Kanals was destroyed.

₹1,12,170/- cash was seized/recovered.


Narcotics & contraband seized:


Heroin – 186.42 gms

Cannabis powder – 87.241 kg

Poppy straw – 55.300 kg

Charas – 3.524 kg

Spasmo Proxivan capsules – 330 Nos

Liquor – 04 bottles


Counter-terror operations:


In 2025, a total of 01 encounter was conducted, resulting in 03 terrorists being neutralised and 01 terrorist arrested. During the year, 03 terror modules were busted. Preventive security measures included 17 PSA detentions, 320 OGWs bound down, and 408 miscreants bound down.


Action against illegal mining:


123 FIRs registered, 251 vehicles seized, and 408 persons arrested.


Action against absconders:


42 absconders arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law.


Cyber crime response:


420 cyber complaints received.


₹28,16,614/- recovered in cyber financial fraud cases through timely intervention.


Humanitarian assistance:


During floods and other natural calamities, Awantipora Police conducted rescue and evacuation operations and provided food, temporary shelter, and essential relief in coordination with civil administration.


Civic Action Programme (CAP):


59 civic action programmes conducted, including quiz competitions, band shows, debates, Run for Unity, cricket, volleyball and badminton tournaments, and cultural programmes, strengthening police–public relations.


Cultural heritage preservation:


Ensured preservation of a centuries-old stone sculpture and safely handed it over to the Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums for conservation.


Awantipora Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, narcotics, illegal mining, cyber crime, and other unlawful activities, and remains committed to public safety, humanitarian service, and community welfare.
